Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer
Deborah A. Cowan is Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer at NPR.
She is responsible for overseeing the organization's financial operations, including ensuring the integrity of accounting processes, internal controls, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, planning and analysis. In addition to providing effective leadership of the finance and accounting staff, she is responsible for ensuring financial awareness and understanding throughout the organization.
Cowan brings more than 20 years of financial leadership experience in media and business to her role at NPR. Just before joining NPR in 2010, Cowan served as the senior vice president of finance at Radio One, Inc. managing the financial and accounting operations. She was part of the senior leadership team that evolved the financial and operational structure and systems that helped grow the organization (through acquisitions as well as organically) and handled many complex strategic and financial issues.
A certified public accountant, Cowan earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Howard University and a Master of Business Administration in Finance and International Business from Columbia Business School. She is currently a director on the nonprofit boards of Consumer Reports and the National Education Association Foundation, where she chairs the audit committee and serves on the investment committee, and is a former director of the Media Financial Management organization.

Senior Vice President, Chief Financial and Operating Officer
Airlines for America
Paul Archambeault was named Senior Vice President, Chief Financial and Operating Officer of Airlines for America (A4A) in September 2014.
In this role, he manages support services; administration, treasury, information technology and business services (e-business, industry audit, high-density airport slot services, publications and the Airlines Clearing House). He also manages the A4A defined-benefit and defined-contribution plans.
Archambeault joined A4A in 1991 as a staff auditor and has held management roles in finance, operations and aviation security. He also served as Director of the Aviation Millennium Project, the industrywide initiative to ensure that all airline operations were Y2K compliant. He was named Vice President, Chief Financial officer and Treasurer in October 2003.
A native of Virginia Beach, Va., Archambeault holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Old Dominion University and a master’s degree in financial management from George Mason University. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Carolyn Mollen is the chief financial officer at Independent Sector, the leadership network for nonprofits, foundations, and corporate giving programs. She specializes in nonprofit accounting and management issues, with an emphasis on financial reporting, budgeting, and grants management. Prior to joining Independent Sector in 2011, Carolyn was a manager with LarsonAllen LLP in their outsourcing department where she gained broad experience with a variety of nonprofit organizations. Carolyn is a member of the AICPA’s Not-for-Profit Advisory Committee and previously served as a member of the FASB Resource Group on NFP Financial Reporting—Other Financial Communications. She is an active member of the Greater Washington Society of CPAs, where she serves on the Nonprofit Financial Accountability Task Force and previously served as chair of both the Not-for-Profit Section and the Not-for-Profit Symposium. She also received the 2015 GWSCPA Outstanding Member in Business & Industry Award. In addition to her professional memberships, she serves as treasurer for Travelling Players Ensemble, a nonprofit theater camp, and as a member of the finance committee for Adventure Theater.
In her free time, she enjoys sharing her love of theater and practicing yoga with her seven-year-old daughter. Carolyn earned her bachelor of arts at the College of William and Mary, a certificate in accounting from the University of Virginia, and her master of public administration from George Mason University. She is a licensed CPA in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
