Ray Oen serves as Chief Financial Officer of the Seattle Indian Health Board (SIHB), where he provides strategic financial leadership for a $60 million Federally Qualified Health Center and Urban Indian Organization dedicated to advancing culturally grounded holistic healthcare and wellness for Native communities. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, Ray helps shape the organization’s long-term financial strategy while ensuring resources are aligned to support SIHB’s mission, growth, and lasting impact.

With more than 30 years of executive leadership experience, Ray has built a career helping organizations navigate complexity, strengthen financial stewardship, and position themselves for sustainable success. His experience spans nonprofit healthcare, higher education, social services, manufacturing, technology, and public service, including executive leadership roles at Bastyr University, Treehouse For Kids, Romac Industries, Microsoft, and Weyerhaeuser. Throughout his career, he has led organizations through transformational change, strengthened financial and operational infrastructure, guided enterprise modernization initiatives and strategic capital investments, and developed high-performing teams grounded in collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

A graduate of the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, Ray earned his MBA after serving as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy’s Nuclear Submarine Force. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Puget Sound and completed the U.S. Navy Nuclear Power School and Naval Reactors engineering program. His military experience instilled the values of service, discipline, and accountability that continue to define his leadership philosophy today.

Beyond his executive responsibilities, Ray is deeply committed to nonprofit governance and community leadership. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Evergreen Treatment Services and advises the Finance Committee of the Wing Luke Museum. Throughout his career, he has also served as Board Treasurer for a youth soccer club and as a member of the Pastoral Council and Finance Committee at his parish, reflecting his longstanding commitment to strengthening organizations that serve their communities.

Known for his collaborative and servant leadership style, Ray believes the role of a CFO extends well beyond financial management. He views finance as a strategic partner that enables organizations to fulfill their mission, empowers leaders to make informed decisions, and builds the long-term capacity needed to serve communities for generations to come.

Ray and his wife of 30 years have raised four children and have long shared a commitment to serving their community. His wife is a registered nurse at the King County Correctional Facility, where she has likewise dedicated her career to public service. Outside of work, Ray enjoys gardening, playing pickleball, cheering on the Seattle Sounders, and following World Cup soccer—a reflection of his belief that strong communities are built both inside and outside the workplace.

Ellen Hobby
Chief Operating Officer
League of Women Voters 

A senior nonprofit finance and operations leader, Ellen Hobby has dedicated her career to advancing mission-driven organizations and improving people’s lives. As Chief Operating Officer at the League of Women Voters of the United States, she has been pivotal in transforming a large, legacy nonprofit into a modern, resilient, and future-ready organization—strengthening both its financial sustainability and its ability to deliver on its civic mission in an increasingly complex environment.

At the League, Ellen has led a comprehensive modernization of financial and operational infrastructure, moving from manual, fragmented systems to streamlined, automated processes that improve transparency, internal controls, and staff efficiency. She helped modernize membership and financial data systems—including a unified “join at all levels” platform serving 51 state Leagues and more than 775 local Leagues—strengthening fundraising, forecasting, and long-term sustainability across the network. Prior to the League Ellen worked at, among others, the Council on Foundations, the National Academy for State Health Policy, and the Epilepsy Foundation of America, all of which benefited from her exemplary mission-aligned, transparent, and durable nonprofit financial leadership. Outside of work, Ellen has contributed to the field through volunteering with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), as well as teaching finance and administration courses for association audiences and conferences. She also served as chair of the United States Green Building Council’s (USGBC’s) Audit Committee, the AICPA’s Not-for-Profit Expert Panel, and on various publication development and review committees.

Ellen graduated magna cum laude with an accounting degree from the University of Maryland University College (now Global Campus) and holds three current credentials: Certified Public Accountant (Maryland), Chartered Global Management Accountant, and Certified Association Executive.

In her copious free time, Ellen is an avid baker, a sports fanatic, and a history enthusiast who enjoys visiting Civil War battlefields. She hopes to travel extensively in retirement to Europe and explore World War I and II sites. A resident of Maryland’s Eastern Shore, Ellen enjoys walks with her dog Mitzi and spending time with family when she’s not empowering voters and defending democracy.

Zerihun Haile-Selassie, CAE

Endocrine Society 

Zerihun Haile-Selassie, CAE, is the Chief Financial Officer for the Endocrine Society, where he provides strategic leadership and oversight of the Society’s Finance and Accounting, Information Technology, Publications & Journals, and Innovative Business Development initiatives. He previously served as the CFO of Inteleos and as Chief Operating and Financial Officer at ACTFL. Beyond his executive role, Zerihun is deeply engaged in the broader nonprofit community. He currently serves as Vice Chair of FAR (Finance Administration Roundtable), a member of the Board of Directors at GWSCPA (Greater Washington Society of CPAs), a member of the ASAE ForesightWorks Advisory Group, and a member of the Sage Intacct Nonprofit Advisory Council. Zerihun is the 2022–2024 ASAE DELP Scholar, was recognized as a Rising Star for the 2018 Nonprofit CFO Award, and was named one of the top 25 CFOs in Maryland for 2023.

He is proudly committed to advancing the Endocrine Society’s mission and is a strong advocate for the broader nonprofit community.

He is a PhD candidate at the University of the Cumberlands and earned his graduate degree from the University of Maryland Global Campus. He is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and a Certified Corporate Board Director (BCBR) from Santa Clara University Leavey School of Business.

Marta Sokol

Marta Sokol serves as Chief Financial Officer of the Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA), where she leads the organization’s financial strategy, planning, and operations. As a member of WIA’s executive leadership team, she ensures the Association is positioned financially to deliver on its mission of enabling connectivity and innovation across the United States.

After immigrating from Poland, Marta built a successful career in the United States through determination, continuous learning, and a passion for helping organizations succeed. With more than two decades of experience in finance, accounting, and operational leadership, she is known for combining financial discipline with a collaborative, forward-looking approach to growth. During her 11-year tenure at WIA, she has helped guide the organization through a period of significant expansion, strengthening its financial foundation while supporting strategic investments that have more than doubled the association’s scale and positioned it for continued success.

Beyond her executive responsibilities, Marta is actively engaged in the nonprofit and association community. She serves as Treasurer and Executive Committee member of FAR: The Nonprofit Business Leaders’ Network and was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of the Greater Washington Society of CPAs (GWSCPA).

Known for her energy, curiosity, and people-centered leadership style, Marta believes organizational success is built on three fundamentals: people, process, and proactive engagement.
